Stormwater Management Program Overview


 

Stormwater pollution is currently the major cause of water pollution today.  The Town of Marana is regulated under the Phase II stormwater program known as the Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elmination System (AZPDES).  The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality administers the program and has defined six minimum control measures for compliance.

 

  1. Public Education and Outreach
  2. Public Involvement and Participation
  3. Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination
  4. Construction Site Stormwater Runoff Control
  5. Control of Post-construction Site Runoff
  6. Pollution Prevention and Good Housekeeping

 

The revised Town of Marana’s Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) was adopted by Town Council on September 4, 2007.  To view the SWMP, please click on the link below.

As a requirement of the SWMP, the Town of Marana has adopted a Stormwater Management Ordinance that will be added to the Land Development Code as Title 25.  This ordinance was adopted by Town Council on September 18, 2007.  Title 25 was revised on April 1, 2008 in response to ADEQ's issuande of the new AZPDES Construction General Permit.  To view the ordinance, please click on the link below.
