On behalf of the entire staff of the Marana Police Department, I would like to welcome you to our official web site.

The Town of Marana is located in the Sonoran Desert of Southeastern Arizona just north of the City of Tucson.  Our staff services a population of over 31,000 and patrols approximately 120 square miles in a town that includes approximately 20 miles of Interstate 10.

The Marana Police Department is comprised of 114 employees, 83 are sworn personnel and 31 civilian staff.  Officers are assigned to patrol, criminal investigations, and various administrative functions.  Special assignments include motorcycle patrol, canine officer, school resource officer, and assignments to various local task forces.

The Department is a strong proponent of community policing and has one full time civilian Crime Prevention Specialist.  This office coordinates a multitude of community programs to include a Citizen’s Academy at various times during the year.  In 2008, The Town of Marana established a Police Citizen Advisory Commission.  The Commission is a seven member board which works to foster and encourage a citizen/police partnership in the prevention of crime and to develop and maintain positive communications and mutual understanding between the community and the Police Department.
