Planning - The Planning Department will help you in the early stages of your development project. If you own land and want to develop it, Planning will help guide you through the rules and regulations. Planning will also help you with landscaping requirements and permits, sign code requirements and permits, and violations of the land development code (including graffitti and sign code violations among others).
Building Safety - Building Safety is the department that you need if you are going to build or make changes to or remodel an existing building.
Development Engineering - The Development Engineering Division of Public Works works closely with the Planning and Building departments. Development Engineering reviews all commercial development plans and subdivision plats to ensure compliance with Engineering requirements. The division also reviews certain building plans and takes the responsibility of reviewing grading for custom home sites as well as for floodplain permitting.
Environmental Engineering - The Environmental Engineering Division of Public Works is responsible for environmental compliance review of development plans. The Planning department will coordinate environmental review of your plans.
Traffic Engineering - The Traffic Engineering Division of Public Works is responsible for traffic regulation compliance review of new developments. The Planning department will coordinate traffic engineering review of your plans.
