What is the Marana Strategic Plan?
In mid-2008, the Town of Marana Mayor and Council recognized the need to complete a community-wide, comprehensive strategic planning effort. Complementary to the town's General Plan, which provides direction on land-use decisions, the comprehensive strategic plan addresses goals and objectives for the future appearance and theme of the community, including setting a bold vision for the future of the town. The plan also addresses the prioritization of major projects for the town as it moves forward from what has been exponential growth since the 1990s.

The Town of Marana Strategic Plan was adopted by the Mayor and Council on February 3, 2009. It will be revisited on an annual basis to update and check progress.

Vision:
Through the strategic planning process, the Mayor and Town Council created a vision statement for Marana:

            "Marana is the centerpiece of the Sonoran Desert                 
                experience, where fun and progress meet."

The Five Focus Areas:
Five focus areas were identified as part of the strategic planning process. These focus areas are the categories into which the strategic plan action steps are grouped.
