Welcome to the launching of the Marana 2010 General Plan. The General Plan rewrite will be a revision of the Marana’s 2002 General Plan to meet new state law provisions and to make the plan more relevant and useful for the community, the elected officials and the Town. The plan will act as a compass and guide our community on a course to a future that is improved,
redefined and innovative.
This website will provide you with information pertaining to the Town of Marana’s 2010 General Plan draft. Here you will find the most current information available to help you get involved with the General Plan rewrite, and keep you informed of the project timeline, upcoming meeting ates and studies completed so far. Please check back often for updates on the planning
process and to review draft documents as they become available.

MARANA 2010 GENERAL PLAN DRAFT
The Marana 2010 General Plan draft is a working and we are actively soliciting input from you,
other individuals, agencies, jurisdictions, and groups as well as the general public for the next
60 days. We intend to complete a final document by November and hold public hearings for
adoption before the end of the year.

THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUR PARTICIPATION
Arizona's Growing Smarter legislation requires all cities and towns to update their General
Plans and to have them ratified by their citizens every ten years. The Marana 2010 General
Plan will be completed this year and placed on the May 2011 ballot.
The Town is rewriting the General Plan to explore areas of quality of life and sustainability
through the development of goals and policies that recognize that the components that
make for a good quality of life are all related, equally important, and connected to one another.
