The new Marana Municipal Complex is arguably the most exciting
addition to the Town. This facility and the surrounding “Town Center” will be
the anchor of development in Northern Marana. The new complex will
consolidate government functions that currently occur at six different
locations across the Town for “one-stop shopping”. The 110,000 square foot
building will serve the Town’s administrative, law enforcement and judicial
needs. The Campus is designed to support additional structures as the
community grows to an estimated population of 100,000 by 2030. The police and
courts moved into the new complex in February 2005, with the balance of the
administrative and development services staff following in May.
This Complex includes a spacious courtroom and video
court; sophisticated conference facilities; new Council Chambers capable of
holding over 180 people; courtyards; breezeways and an impressive central
lobby showcasing a glass mosaic Town Seal stretching ten feet in diameter.
This seal, inset into the floor, is the work of local artist To-Reé-Neé Wolf
Keiser, who also produced smaller copies of the seal for the Council Chambers
and Court Room. The new Marana Police Department is also fully equipped with
state-of-the-art technology to better serve and protect Marana’s citizens.

The Marana Municipal Complex was formally dedicated to the
Town at a ceremony on May 3, 2005. The event included a ribbon-cutting,
Council meeting and fireworks display among other activities. Although the
ceremony has come and gone, everyone is still invited to come out and see the
Complex and what it means for the community.
