Marana Regional Airport

The Marana Regional Airport is owned and operated by the Town of Marana. The airport, formerly known as Avra Valley Airport, was purchased by the Town in 1999 from Pima County. The three letter identifier for the airport remains AVQ.

The Marana Regional Airport is classified as a general aviation reliever airport for Tucson International.  It is located approximately fifteen nautical miles northwest of Tucson and is five miles west of Interstate 10 on Avra Valley Road. The airport is home to more than 310 based aircraft and had over 110,000 takeoffs and landings in 2007. The airport's main runway is 6,900 feet and the crosswind runway is 3,900 feet.

The airport's full service FBO, Tucson Aeroservice Center, offers Jet A, 100LL, rental cars, air charter flights, aircraft maintenance and repair, and flight instruction.

Pima Aviation is currently responsible for all based and transit aircraft at the airport. They
